Rex
was born and raised in Southern California and also makes
his home there. He earned a B.A. Psychology, and an M.S. Management.
Rex is the author of the parenting resource book, Why Would
I Want the Toy, When I Can Have the Box? and the vegan
book, Plant Roots. His 3rd book, also a vegan book,
is in work.
Interestingly, his path to
parenting and vegetarianism, and ultimately the inspiration
for his books and mission, began on the same day, January
6, 1989. With his father dying of a heart attack when Rex
was a child, he wanted to do all within his power so his children
would not suffer the same fate and loss. So on that date he
simultaneously said hello to his newborn son and goodbye to
his meat-centered meals.
During his parenting and vegetarian
journeys he observed that the norm, the mainstream, wasn't
normal at all. That economic and social influences had severely
clouded society's ability to recognize what was natural
what Nature intended thus in our best interest. Rex's
revelation turned to frustration when others couldn't, or
wouldn't, acknowledge what seemed obvious to him.
Rex's current and future books are motivated
by this phenomenon. Consequently, his goal is to influence
and overcome our culture's collectively distorted perspectives
by way of his writings, with the desire to forge a better
world. His ability to think outside the box, branded in his
publishing company's name, along with a compelling writing
style that emphasizes "show" over "tell," should make his
quest successful, as well as his books memorable.
